The instrument signed by the Iranian Minister of Justice Ali-Reza Avaei and his Uzbek counterpart Ruslanbek Davletov on the sidelines of the 6th meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) ministers of justice which is being held in Kyrgyzstan.
The document is aimed at developing the legal cooperation between the two countries at international and bilateral levels.
The two sides will cooperate on human rights, civil freedom, overseeing law enforcement, and training.
The Iranian minister is visiting Kyrgyzstan to participate in the 6th meeting of the SCO ministers of justice.
The SCO, founded in 2001, comprises eight member states, namely the Republic of India, the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the People's Republic of China, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Republic of Uzbekistan. Iran is the observer member state at SCO.
Meanwhile, Deputy Interior Minister of Kyrgyzstan Kursan Asanov and Iran's Ambassador to Bishkek Ali-Mojtaba Roozbahani discussed practical ways of singing an agreement on security and legal issues.
Iran and Kyrgyzstan have also agreed to expand their cooperation on the fight against terrorism, illegal weapon smuggling, and cyber crimes.
