Iran, Turkey holds security sub-committee meeting

IRNA quoting Anadolu news agency reported that the meeting was held in the presence of a Turkish delegation headed by Agri Governor General Suleiman Elban and Governor of Iran's Maku City Shahin Alizadeh in the city of Agri, Turkey.

Acting Governor General of Igdir province of Turkey Kamal Dorou as well as governors of Iranian cities of Maku and Chaldoran along with a number of officials from both countries were present in the meeting.

The governor general of Agri province appreciated Iranian officials' efforts for border security and expressed the hope that decisions made in the meeting would minimize the danger of terrorism in the border area.

The two countries' security sub-committee meeting is held every three months either in Iran or Turkey.
Iran and Turkey have 570 kilometers of joint border, a big part of which is mountainous areas.
