'Iran was the target,' Iran's Prosecutor General Mohammad Jafar Montazeri said addressing a local ceremony.
He noted that the Zionist regime and the US with the support of Saudi Arabia's petrodollars and the UAE created and trained Daesh (ISIS) elements.
Montazeri praised the efforts by the security forces to prevent Daesh terrorists from reaching Iran's borders.
The cleric warned against the relocation of Daesh terrorists to Afghanistan after they were defeated in Iraq and Syria.
He referred to the recent terrorist attack in Iran's southwestern province of Khouzestan and noted that the security and intelligence forces should be vigilant against enemy's conspiracies.
