Iran seeks good-neighborly ties with neighbors: FM

On the contrary to Saudi Arabia, Iran does not seek tension with any neighboring country, including Riyadh, Mohammad Javad Zarif said in a press conference held in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

Commenting on the US violation of the Iranian nuclear deal, known also as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), he described the Washington move as a dangerous phenomenon.

The official expressed the hope that other countries follow Iraq and the European Union (EU) policy and stand against the US' illegal sanctions.

Washington left the historic Iran Deal on May 8 giving 90- and 180-day wind-down periods to other countries before it starts re-imposing oil sanctions on Tehran on November 4. Despite the world’s criticism over Washington’s move, US President Donald Trump reinstated nuclear sanctions on Tehran and imposed as he claimed the “highest level” of economic bans on the Islamic Republic of Iran.
