Alain Aoun made the remarks in an exclusive interview with IRNA in Beirut.
Today, the region is witnessing a new order which says each power should have its own foothold, Aoun said in his remarks.
He said that modern Iran’s power has risen unprecedentedly, and Iran has become an effective factor in the Middle East region.
About Lebanon’s relations with Hezbollah, Aoun said the US pressures will not affect those ties as Beirut has directly expressed its stance on the Resistance group to the American side.
Commenting on the US President Donald Trump's decision about the Golan Heights captured from Syria in 1967 war, the Lebanese member of parliament said it was a unilateral move that breached all international regulations.
“After 52 years it is time for the United States to fully recognize Israel's sovereignty over the Golan Heights, which is of critical strategic and security importance to the State of Israel and Regional Stability!,” Trump tweeted on March 21.
Occupation of Golan cannot be legitimized, Aoun stressed.
Analysts believe that the US decision will cause instability and aggravate crisis in the region.
Aoun, a member of “Strong Lebanon” faction, also talked of the Syrian refugees, stressing that repatriation of the Syrian people displaced during the unrest in their country since March, 2011, needs an international cooperation.
All sides in Syria should cooperate in solving the issue.
Touching upon the hurdle US sanctions created in the way of transfer of relief cash from other countries to Iran’s flood-stricken people, the Lebanese official said the US economic sanctions against Iran should not affect the process of humanitarian aid.
To deal with natural disasters, all people from different parts of the world rush to help each other because such incidents are humanitarian and should not be politicized, he noted.
At the end of his remarks, the Lebanese lawmaker expressed hope that Iran’s powerful role would lead to a full understanding in the region, establishment of regional stability and restoration of good ties with neighbors.
