'We have many options if Trump withdraws the JCPOA,' Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi said while pointing to the US threats for withdrawing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action reached between Iran and G5+1 (the US, the UK, Russia, China and France plus Germany) in 2015.
Based on the JCPOA, Iran accepted additional limitations on its nuclear programs in exchange for the the removal of its sanctions.
'Iran will not be the initiator of the violation of the JCPOA,' the Iranian deputy foreign minister said while noting that Iran can resume industrial-scale production of peaceful nuclear materials.
According to the international law, one side cannot quit the nuclear deal, he added.
The official said that all countries, except the US, believe that the agreement should not be renegotiated.
He pointed to eight times' International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) report on Iran's commitment to its obligations and said the US is not authorized to certify or decertify Iran's nuclear program.
The deputy foreign minister expressed satisfaction with the ongoing cooperation between Iran and Europe in various fields.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he pointed to the expert-level talks between Iranian and Canadian officials and said, 'We want promotion of ties.'
He urged the Canadian government to remove obstacles hindering improvement of relations.
