Qasemi made the remarks in reaction to recent remarks by Christopher Ford, Assistant Secretary of State for International Security and Nonproliferation at the US Department of State, on Iran’s nuclear program and renegotiating JCPOA.
He said that renegotiating JCPOA is a clear example of “testing what has been tested before”.
“Unfortunately, like his some other colleagues, he makes remarks based on his wishful thinking,” Qasemi said.
He said that the United States is the biggest violator of international commitments, and that its ignorance of the UNSC Resolution 2231 is a clear example of the behavior of this rouge and stubborn government.
He added that Washington could not even satisfy itself with backing out from JCPOA, rather, in a rare act, it threatened other countries about remaining committed to the deal.
The JCPOA has helped to the maintenance of regional and international peace and security a lot and violating this pact and the UNSC resolutions is regarded as a destabilizing act which threatens the international and regional peace and security, Qasemi said.
He held the US administration responsible for the consequences of undermining JCPOA.
