Iran parliament speaker: Diplomacy only way to resolve Syrian crisis

'The solution to the Syrian crisis is political,' Larijani said.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Tran Thanh Man.

Larijani said that Iranians have always applauded anti-colonial fight of Vietnamese.

He said that there are good capacities for cooperation between the two countries in the fields of oil, gas, petrochemical, mines, communication and modern technologies, and added that there are obstacles in the way of development of mutual cooperation which should be removed.

The parliament speaker said that the Iranian government and parliament intend to develop trade ties between the two countries.

Tran Thanh Man appreciated Iran's support and helps during fight against colonialism for Vietnamese people and government.

He underlined that Vietnam believes in importance for friendly and old relations between the two nations and wants the expansion of mutual cooperation.

Iran-Vietnam relations have been strengthened and consolidated in recent years, Tran Thanh Man said, adding that visits of the two presidents helped development of ties and now by visits of the two countries' parliament speakers it may further develop.

He said that Vietnam Fatherland Front is to help Vietnam parliament to execute law and supervise the affairs.

The Vietnamese official also called for facilitation of shuttling political delegations as well as people.
