This was the third meeting of the Iranian ambassador with the Army Chief of Pakistan.
The first meeting was held in March soon after the visit by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to Islamabad to attend the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Summit while the second meeting took place in April.

The leaders of Iran and Pakistan regularly interact with each other to further improve bilateral ties.
Last month Pakistani Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif visited Iran while President Hassan Rouhani and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had an important meeting on the sidelines of the 72nd meeting of the UN General Assembly in New York.
