Iran, Pakistan agree to strengthen bilateral cooperation

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal tweeted on Friday that Pakistani Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua spoke to Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister on Political Affairs Seyed Abbas Araghchi.

“The two agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in all areas,” he tweeted.

He further tweeted that that Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua illustrated Pakistan’s continued desire for peace and de-escalation of tensions in the region

Earlier Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif during a phone conversation with his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi had urged Pakistan and India to show self-restraint following the escalation of tensions between the two states.

The Iranian foreign minister said that Iran is ready to help achieving a peaceful resolution of dispute between Islamabad and New Delhi.
