In a meeting with a delegation from the Chinese Global Times directed by the editor-in-chief Hu Xinjing, he hoped that the team’s visit will help draw out a precise image of Iran in Chinese community.
Commenting on the achievements of the Islamic Revolution, he added that now some 2,000 units of universities are operating in Iran and media are diverse and active, as some 30 media outlets are working in the country.
“Iran is among the top countries in many industries including oil, petrochemical, nanotechnology and is among the 15 top countries in terms of scientific productions,” he said.
Referring to plots of the western and Zionist media to release unreal news about Iran, he said as the negative propaganda is underway against China, more negative than that has been launched against Iran.
Hashemi also stressed the need for widening cooperation between the Iranian and Chinese media to counter the onslaughts, voicing IRNA’s readiness for enhancing ties with the Chinese media outlets including Xinhua and Global Times.
“Today, we need broad cooperation to counter US unilateralism and domineering policies and the media should do their part in the field,” he said.
At the end of the meeting Hashemi and Xinjing signed a memorandum of understanding on mutual cooperation between IRNA and Global Times.
Chinese delegation arrived in Tehran on Tuesday at the official invitation of IRNA.
