Iran missile program has nothing to do with JCPOA: Russian envoy

Speaking to Tass news agency following a meeting of JCPOA Joint Committee in Vienna, Ulyanov reiterated that the international deal must remain intact because it is a very 'delicate and fragile balance of interests'.

If all signatories to the JCPOA would like to reach more agreements that have nothing to do with the deal, this depends on their political will, the Russian envoy said, adding however that currently there is no need for a complementary agreement.

Ulyanov said Western countries are worried about Iran's missile program and want to place it within a proper framework, maintaining that this has nothing to do with the JCPOA.

The 11th meeting of the JCPOA Joint Committee was held in Vienna Friday and lasted for three hours. At the end of the meeting, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi who led the Iranian delegation to the talks, said there was a consensus among participants on the full implementation of the international deal with good faith.
