Iran leader's top aide meets Syrian President

The meeting was held in the presidential palace in Damascus.

Velayati, who is also the secretary general of the Global Association of the Islamic Awakening, visited Syria to participate in a conference on Quds.

The two-day conference that began on Tuesday in Damascus was hosted by Syria's Ministry of Religious Endowments (Awqaf) and a number of Iranian institutions. Scholars from 15 countries also participated in the conference.
