Iran lashes out at US official for irrelevant statements in Munich

Such irrelevant statements made by the American official at the Munich Security Conference were in line with Washington's failed Iran-phobia policy, Qasemi said early Sunday.

The obstacles thrown by the US over the past one year to prevent Iran from benefiting from its 2015 nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and repetition of such statements indicated the continuation of Americans' useless Iran-phobia policy and their failure to achieve their hegemonic and irrational goals.

The setbacks suffered by the US administration one after the other on various international scenes particularly in recent months have prompted them to display so explicitly their unreliability, non-compliance with their international obligations and antagonistic intentions, Qasemi said.

The statements made by the White House national security advisor leave no room for doubt that the United States in defiance of its obligations under the JCPOA is still trying to obstruct the deal and prevent both Iran and the international community from benefiting from advantages, opportunities and trade and investment capacities provided by the deal, he said.

Of course, the Foreign Ministry spokesman said, it seems that the enthusiasm shown by many countries for cooperation with Iran and volume of foreign investments in the country in the post-JCPOA era have worried the Americans.

He said 'We consider these statements by this American official a threat to other countries and the violation of not only JCPOA but also all international laws and regulations by the US administration.'
