Iran, Iraq's real ally in fighting terrorism: Iraqi politician

Hakim made the remarks Saturday in a meeting with member of the Expediency Council Ali Akbar Velayati.

He emphasized the fact that Baghdad is eager to develop ties with its neighboring countries.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the latest developments in the region and the way to reinforce relations between Iran and Iraq.

Iraq is after maintaining best relations with neighbors especially Iran, he said.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Hakim urged regional countries to establish a common discourse and put an end to tensions in the Middle East.
