
During the meeting, Sarmadi underlined the need for interaction and consultation and joint action of Iran and Indonesia to establish peace and tranquility in the Middle East and East of Asia.
The meeting took place following the 7th meeting of political consultative committee of Iran and Indonesia in the venue of Foreign Ministry.
Sarmadi pointed to commonalties and grounds for bilateral cooperation and voiced pleasure for the trend of progress in bilateral ties over past 3 years.
He added that the exchange volume is not adequate considering plenty of potentials between the two countries, and said that all capacities should be used to increase trade and commercial exchanges and promotion of all-out relations between the two big Islamic states.
Desra Percaya appreciated Iran's presence and participation in Indian Ocean Littoral States Union during presidency of Indonesia as well as Iran's support for candidacy of Indonesia in international circles, especially non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council.
The two sides also underlined promotion of economic and trade relations as well as constructive cooperation in bilateral and multilateral fields.
