Zarif arrived in New Delhi on Monday morning at the head of a trade and economic delegation and held talks with his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj who announced her country will not recognize unilateral sanctions.
“Fruitful visit to #India, building on achievements of President Rouhani's state visit in Feb. Productive meetings on energy, banking, transportation and commerce, Zarif wrote on his Twitter account.
“Excellent substantive concluding meeting with my counterpart and delegations. Resolved to expand ties in all fields,” he added.
India was first non-JCPOA destination for Zarif after US withdrawal from the international pact on May 8.
Earlier, Zarif toured China, Russia and Brussels in a bid to win global consensus against US illegal move to opt out of the deal.
Zarif told IRNA that JCPOA-related visits to other countries will continue.
