Iran FM urges Europe to make more efforts to preserve JCPOA

The JCPOA stands for Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the official name of the agreement reached between Iran and six world major powers in 2015 to give Tehran sanctions relief in return for scaling back its nuclear program.

In a meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister of Sweden Annika Soder, he discussed JCPOA and Iran’s stance vis-à-vis the US anti-JCPOA moves.

The two officials also dwelt on major regional and international developments and bilateral relations.

US President Donald Trump’s threats to exit the international pact, developments in Yemen and Syria were also dealt with during the meeting.

Swedish official, for her part, underlined the need for preserving achievements of the JCPOA.
