After a meeting with his Indian counterpart, Sushma Swaraj, he added that India does not recognize unilateral sanctions as its foreign minister has announced and the two sides are determined to boost ties in all fields.
“We had very good meetings with Indian deputy ministers in various fields,” he said, noting he discussed a range of present-day issues with Swaraj.
Implementation of joint oil projects, direct trade interaction between the two countries, currency exchanges and using national currencies, cooperation in railway sector, North-South corridor and transit between the two countries were among the topics discussed during the meeting with Indian foreign minister, Zarif said.
Describing the meeting as positive, Zarif said that it was also agreed to set up committees for banking and trade cooperation between the two countries.
Zarif left Tehran for the Indian capital of New Delhi late on Sunday at the head of high-ranking delegation comprising economic and political officials.
