Iran expects EU practical steps in support of JCPOA: Cleric

The Europeans' stance against the US withdrawal from the nuclear deal is not enough and 'we are waiting for their practical steps to fulfill their obligations', Secretary of the Guardian Council Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati said on Wednesday.

The cleric said that US President Donald Trump's move to violate the JCPOA will discredit the country.

US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that Washington would pull out of Iran nuclear deal and reinstate nuclear sanctions on Iran.

This is while most world powers, including Russia, China, and European Union, have repeatedly stressed that keeping the deal is in the interest of world peace and security.
