Iran dismisses UN Jahangir's report as 'based on false information'

Speaking during a meeting with top judicial officials, Ayatollah Larijani said that the text of her report was a repetition of the claims against the Islamic Republic of Iran by anti-revolutionary sources and Mojahedin Khalq Organization (MKO).

The report provides support for those tried and convicted on espionage charges as well as MKO members who have carried out blind terrorist operations against the Islamic establishment, Ayatollah Larijani said.

The report also contains false claims in respect to some executions which have either not actually occurred or there has been no compelling ground for them, the Judiciary chief added.

On Western countries' double-standard policies in dealing with the issue of human rights, the official said that while adopting resolutions against the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Western countries prevent adoption of any resolution against the brutal acts of the Zionist regime and Saudi Arabia.

They support a spy while turning a blind eye on the massive massacre in Yemen and the occupation of Gaza Strip, Ayatollah Amoli Larijani said.
