Iran describes US human rights report as 'unacceptable'

The Islamic Republic believes that the US foreign ministry's annual report and in particular, the claims about Iran's human rights status is quite one-sided and politically motivated, Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said.

He noted that the UN foreign ministry's annual report presents an unreal and biased picture of the situation in the Islamic Republic.

The Foreign Ministry''s statement criticized the US support for the Zionist regime and the reactionary regimes of the region, and said that it is better for the US government to prevent the violation of human rights in this country and show reaction to the violation of human rights by its allies.
