The Iranian observer delegation deployed to Zimbabwe has reported that the election was held in a peaceful atmosphere, President Rouhani said in the message.
The President also expressed satisfaction on the improving bilateral ties, and said that he was confident the two countries would see a new chapter of relations at a high level in both bilateral and international spheres.
Emmerson Mnangagwa won the election on Friday (August 3) by gaining 50.8 percent of the votes.
This was the first election held in the country since the former Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe stepped down in 2017 after 37 years in power.
