Iran, China voice support for peace in Afghanistan

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Abbas Araqchi and Special Envoy on the Afghan Affairs of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Deng Xijun met in the Iranian capital of Tehran and discussed the latest political and security developments in Afghanistan.

They described Afghanistan's insecurity and instability a common threat for the regional states and stressed development of their cooperation to establish peace in the war-torn country.

During the meeting, the Iranian official stressed the role of regional countries to help Afghan government to reach sustainable peace.
