In a press conference in Syrian capital on Thursday, he added that the recent Iraqi Kurdistan Region’s developments have a clear relation with the decline of Daesh power, as the US and Israel are seeking an insecure and conflict region.
Iraqi Kurdistan’s move in holding poll for independence is undertaken as a US and Zionist regime’s strategic policy following Daesh defeat in Aleppo, Deir Ezzur and Mosul, he said.
“When we say Iraq’s integrity is our redline, you should know that if it is crossed, we will never stay hand-tied and onlooker,” the senior MP said.
Transfer of fuel to Iraqi Kurdistan Region as well as flights to Erbil International Airport have been stopped and the joint borders once held by KRG are now controlled by the Iraqi central government, he said, noting that these are just initial steps and if they insist on the mistake, next steps will be on the way.
Referendum for independence is not a new measure and it was held in 2005, but it failed and this time it will also fall apart, Boroujerdi said.
“We attach special respect for the Kurds in Iran and neighboring states and we have had best relations with them all the years even prior to the victory of the Islamic Revolution 1977,” he said, noting that the issue of Kurds as the noble people is different from strategic mistake of a person.
The fact that Israel is the only backer of the poll and feels pleasure over the move signals a clear message to the region and the fact is sufficient to realize the nature of the move, Boroujerdi said.
Major talks have been held in all levels and main decisions have also been made, he said, noting that undeclared high-level communications were also made among Iran, Iraq, Turkey and Syria.
Hailing Astana talks, Boroujerdi also said that held so far in six rounds, it is significant due to conclusion of field and operations agreements.
As to Turkey’s role in settlement of Syrian crisis, he said that the fact that it sat down on negotiating table along with Iran and Syria indicates its seriousness in the strategy.
Asked about Iran’s response to US likely pullout from nuclear deal, he said that the deal is an official international accord honored by all the countries signatory to it and enjoys support of UN Security Council’s resolution and that’s for the same reason that all the countries, especially EU ForeignPolicy Chief Mogherini have taken stance against US threats and violations of JCPOA.
No doubt if the US wants to disrupt the game, it will be main loser and today Iran is in a position to restore its nuclear program to pre-deal era and resume its activities even faster, senior official said.
Touching on Iran-Russian cooperation in Syria, he said that a joint operational chamber existed long ago and the coordination played a main role in developments.
The Zionist regime is worried about failure of Daesh and it has always tried to save the terrorist group’s leaders from perilous situations, Boroujerdi said.
