
'Iran hails North and South Korean Leader’s attempts on removing tensions and normalizing ties between the two countries,' Qasemi said.
He referred to recent positive developments in Korean Peninsula, saying Iran considers the recent meeting between Korean leaders as a responsible step that can help maintain sustainable peace and security in the region and in the world.
'Iran permanent and principled policy is to oppose producing, keeping and using weapons of mass destruction,' he noted.
'We support any attempts to free the world from such kind of weapons,' he added
Iran believes that the new and historic chapter of removing tensions in Korean Peninsula should be pursued intelligently, bilaterally and with no trans-regional interventions and provocation, Qasemi said.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he referred to US President recent approach and the US lack of compliance with international commitments, saying the forty-year experience of Iran specially its recent one as regard nuclear deal also known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) indicates that US is not a reliable and committed player.
He went on to say that US is not qualified to participate in equations and arrangements among countries.
This issue has escalated more in Trump era, he added.
