Int'l Quds Day observed at Iranian embassies around globe

Iranian embassies in Tunisia, Belarus, Slovenia, Ireland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Lebanon commemorated the Quds Day in support of the people of Palestine on the International Quds Day that is observed in different parts of the world.

Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on August 7, 1979, designated the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as the Quds Day and the day of Islam's life.

To date, not only the Iranians, but also all the freedom-seekers of the world in many countries have marked the last Friday of Ramadan every year by holding demonstrations, to declare their solidarity with the Palestinians and support for their lawful rights.

In the ceremony held in Tunisia, the Ambassador of Iran in Tunis Mostafa Boroujerdi said in the event that late Imam Khomeini paid special attention to Palestine, even before the 1979 Islamic Revolution, which went on until his demise in 1989.

Boroujerdi added that everyone knows that the Zionist regime has been the main source of trouble in the Middle East in the past 70 years.

He added that the transfer of the Zionists capital to the Holy Quds shows that the US pays no attention to the rights of Palestinians.

The Iranian Ambassador in Dublin Javad Kachou'i said in the ceremony that Quds Day is the day of countering the global arrogance and supporting the oppressed.

He added that Iran has paid a big price to keep the Quds Day alive and support the people of Palestine amd will continue to support them until the independent government of Palestine is established and all the refugees return home.

Another speaker at the event, Horr Shobeiri, called the Zionist regime 'one of the most important satans of today's world.'

The Iranian envoy to Sarajevo said, 'The Holy Quds will remain the eternal capital of Palestine.'
