IAEA chief reiterates Iran's compliance with nuclear deal

The Iran nuclear deal known also as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) represents a significant gain for nuclear verification and the nuclear-related commitments undertaken by Iran under the agreement are being implemented, International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Yukiya Amano said in a meeting with US Permanent Representative to the United Nations Nikki Haley on Thursday evening.

Amano is visiting the United States for meetings and speeches in Washington, New York and Boston, including his annual address to the United Nations General Assembly on Friday.

He briefed Haley on the IAEA’s strong and effective safeguards activities in Iran, the official website of the IAEA reported.

'Iran is now subject to the world’s most robust nuclear verification regime, and the IAEA has so far had access to all the locations it needed to visit in the country. IAEA inspectors will continue to carry out their work in an impartial and factual manner,' Amano said during his meeting with Haley at UN headquarters in New York.
