Speaking to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Pir Hossein Koulivand said Ayatollah Shahroudi is in coma and hospitalized in intensive critical unit (ICU).

He is in critical condition, he added.

Some news websites in Iran reported this morning that Ayatollah Shahroudi has died. He has been suffering from cancer for a long time.
