Gulf Today: Bolton is ‘a threat’ and ‘warmonger’

The article writes that Bolton supports a policy of exerting 'maximum pressure' against North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela and Iran, and believes that 'only military action… can accomplish what is required'.

'After Trump himself, Bolton is the most dangerous man in the Trump White House. Trump is a menace because he is ignorant, lazy, erratic, manipulative, and narcissistic: everything is about him. Bolton is a major threat to the world because he is hard-working, focused, ruthless, and arrogant: he is absolutely determined to get his way and has constant access to a Trump who can be swayed by pressure and bullying.'

Bolton not only pressed Trump to tighten sanctions on Iran, but he also punished European, Asian, and other countries that do not comply.

It was reportedly Bolton who pressed Trump to demand total disarmament from North Korea.

During George Bush junior's tenure, Bolton served as undersecretary of state for arms control and security and was a strong advocate of the 2003 Iraq war on the false pretext that Baghdad possessed weapons of mass destruction (WMD), the article added.

Jansen wrote, '[Bolton's] hawkishness on Iran has disturbed even Trump, whose aggressiveness has, so far, been confined to verbal threats.'

Anti-war legislators and commentators of the US warn that Bolton and his hawkish allies, including Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, seek to use the 2001 use-of-force Congressional resolution, adopted after al-Qaeda’s attacks on New York and Washington, to launch a war on Iran without the Congressional approval mandated by the US Constitution.

Trump’s hawks claim the same thing that Bush did about Iraq. They made the false claim that possessed WMD, which waged the war on Iraq and resulted in the rise of al-Qaeda in the region.
