Guinea: US withdrawal from JCPOA unjustifiable

Mamadi Toure made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Guinea Conakry Vahid Kiani, Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), quoting the Iranian Embassy in the African country, reported.

Toure said his country like other members of the African Unity supports the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as well as efforts to save the deal. He described the US administration's unilateral breach of the international deal as illegal.

He also termed the relations between Iran and Guinea as 'very good', underlining the need to strengthen bilateral ties.

While submitting a message from Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to his Guinean counterpart, the Iranian ambassador congratulated Toure on his reappointment to the post in the new Guinean Cabinet of ministers.

Kiani also referred to the relocation of the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Beit ul-Moqaddas in defiance of the UN Security Council approvals and its subsequent heightening of tension which led to the martyrdom of 120 innocent Palestinian people. Such incidents are the results of the unwise measures and bullying policies of the US administration, he said.

Guinea is a country in West Africa, bordered on the west by the Atlantic Ocean. It capital city is Conakry. It has a population of 10 million, 90 percent of whom are Muslim. The official language of the country is French.
