G7 looking for options to preserve Iran nuclear deal

Maas, who is Toronto to take part in the G7 ministerial meeting, was quoted by the German foreign ministry as saying that the situation of the Middle Eat will become much more dangerous without the Iran nuclear deal officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

He said the German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron would urge US President Donald Trump not to withdraw from the deal because such an action would create big problems.

If the deal fails or the US exits from it, there would be nothing comparable to it and there are fears that the situation might deteriorate.

US President Donald Trump has threatened to the leave the nuclear deal unless what he called as its flaws are removed by May 12. French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel are to meet Trump in Washington this week with the JCPOA being one of the main topics of their discussion.
