External powers had hands in terror attack in Iran

In an exclusive interview with IRNA here on the possibility of the US and its allies in the Middle East playing roles in the Saturday terrorist attack on a military parade in the southwestern Iran city, Sany Kapoor said: “The terror attack on the military parade is very significant and brazen. There are very precedents of this kind of attack. This couldn’t have happened without the support of the external powers.”

Elaborating on the US disappointment over its failure to push Iran to re-negotiate its nuclear deal with the world powers, the seasoned analyst of the world affairs said: “There is schizophrenia that has gripped the US establishment. On the one hand, there is US President Donald Trump who has withdrawn his country from the Iranian nuclear deal and on the other hand, there is part of the establishment that is afraid of the consequences of this withdrawal on the oil prices and the US prestige in the Middle-East. This deep state is desperate that Iran returns to the negotiating table and accept humiliating terms. The fact that the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has revealed these overtures and stated his refusal is clearly making enemies of Iran very upset.”

To a question on the possibility of Saudi Arabia and the Zionist regime playing a role in the attack, he said: “Such attacks require planning and big funds. It couldn’t have been executed without the support of some important powers..”

Terming the attack detrimental to the peace and stability in the Middle-East, he said: “I think this attack will increase the violence in the West Asia. This terror attack will change the dynamics of this unending crisis in West Asia.”
