EU intends to stay in Iran Deal: Senior Iranian official

Speaking to reporters after a meeting with Raymond Knops Acting Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee at the Netherlands’ House of Representatives, Velayati said the European nations reject the US approach in addressing the issue and Washington's lack of commitment and they remain to be fully committed to the nuclear deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

The EU policy, including the policy adopted by the Netherlands, toward Iran's nuclear issue is different from Washington's approach towards the JCPOA, he said.

'The Dutch parliamentary delegation showed that they were transparent and outspoken in their approach toward the Iran Deal and Washington's lack of commitment on the accord,' Velayati said.

Referring to the growing trend of Tehran-Amesterdam relations, he added that the Dutch officials are keen on expanding trade and economic ties with the Islamic Republic.

The Iranian senior official also said that the Netherland is exploring possible ways to make investments in Iran.
