Envoy rejects claims against Iran regarding expansionism aims

Supplying interests through expansionism is old-fashioned, Alireza Enayati said.

Efforts made by some countries to prove Iran hegemony in the region and reviving emperorship are the fruit of false claims made by unofficial people, he said.

It is worth mentioning that some countries are spreading Iranophobia, creating imaginary enemy, hatred, difference, division and gap between Iran and neighboring countries to reach their aims, he added.

He referred to the US Vice President Mike Pence allegations in American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) who said Iran is after resuming Fars emperor.

This is while during the 72nd UNGA meeting, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani reiterated that Iran is not after reviving emperorship and hegemony.

This claim had earlier been refuted by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and also Majlis speaker Ali Larijani, Enayati added.

Islamic Republic of Iran not only takes no advantage of the expansionism but is against some countries’ adventurism, he said.

Iran is committed to principles and international values, namely respecting sovereignty and territorial integrity, mutual respects and not to interfere in other countries' internal affairs, Iranian envoy said.
