Envoy lauds Iran-UK political talks

'The second round of Iran-UK comprehensive political talks in London was quite frank and action oriented. The two sides agreed on certain steps which, if taken, would have effective impact on the stability of the region,' Baeidinejad‏ said in a Twitter message released on Thursday.

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi in a speech at London-based Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs on Thursday outlined Iran’s foreign policy priorities in 2018 and beyond.

Iran’s role in the Middle East and world and how attitudes to and expectations from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal changed were also addressed by Araqchi in his speech.

US President Donald Trump certified Iran’s sanctions relief for the last time, warning that if the amendments intended by him regarding the Sunset Clause as well as intensified monitoring and adding Iran’s missile issue to the 2015 nuclear deal, are not included in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the US will quit the deal.

This is whilst The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), has once again confirmed that Iran is fulfilling its commitments under the 2015 multilateral nuclear agreement.

The new quarterly report released on Thursday read that Iran’s enriched uranium reserves stood at 109.5 kilograms until February 12. It said Iran did not exceed its 300 kilogram cap on enriched uranium during its reporting period.
