China expert: Iran plays key role in Syria's counter-terrorism move

Talking to Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Kang Liang said Syria would need its friends to reconstruct its war-devastated country.

Since the beginning of war in Syria, Iran and Russia have stood by this Arab country, playing a pivotal role in counter-terrorism efforts in that state, he added.

He described the West's endeavors for obstructing the counter-terrorism efforts as a huge challenge facing Syria in recent years.

The Chinese expert also maintained that Syria is on the verge of getting out of the crisis.
