Eleven members of Syrian Democratic Forces were among the dead, Head of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights Rami Abdul Rahman was quoted by France news agency ‘AFP’ as saying.
The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are a multi-ethnic and multi-religious alliance of predominantly Kurdish, but also Arab and Assyrian/Syriac militias, as well as some smaller Turkmen, Armenian, Circassian and Chechen groups participating in the Syrian civil war.
The explosion which happened in east of Deir ez-Zor resulted in death of a Syrian Democratic Forces commander together with 10 others, Rahman said.
Seven civilians were also killed, he added.
No group or individual has yet claimed the responsibility for the deadly accident.
