Bangladesh appreciates Iran Navy performance

In a statement on the occasion of the international maneuver of rescue and relief which is underway in the country's waters, Bangladeshi force said that Iran's naval force has beefed up its presence in sea routes to preserve merchant ships and oil tankers against the pirates.

Given the international efforts to fight sea piracy, Iran's Navy has expanded its scope of operations to Gulf of Aden to protect cargo ships and oil tankers, particularly those belonging to Iran.

Iranian Navy's 49th Fleet comprising Sabalan Destroyer and Bandar Abbas logistics vessel participated in the biggest rescue and relief war game hosted by Bangladesh after sailing a distance of 3,804 miles.

Some 32 countries including 23 member-states and nine observers of the Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS) attended the maneuver.
