Asian nations can act as messengers of peace, friendship: Iran diplomat

Iran and China are the two Asian countries enjoying the most ancient civilizations in the continent, Ali Asghar Khaji told Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

It is over 25 centuries that Iran and China have been having relations through the Silk Road and playing important role in each other's progress, Khaji said.

The two sides, the ambassador added, are witnessing growing ties in various fields.

He further underlined the importance of expanding cultural cooperation between the two nations.

Elsewhere his remarks, the ambassador also pointed to an Islamic conference held in China, saying the ancient Iran has always welcomed rationality and the rational religion of Islam.
