Ankara not obliged to implement US oil sanctions on Iran

Referring to US call on different countries to stop oil purchase from Iran by November, he added that the decision concerns US’ foreign trade ministry and has nothing to do with Turkey.

“We do not surrender to anything outside Turkey’s national interests,” he said.

“We think only about Turkey’s national interests and we will take decisions only on the same basis,” he said.

He also underlined that his country will try to make sure that the friendly and brotherly country of Iran does not suffer losses or fall victim to injustice.

US officials have announced that Iran crude buyers should end their oil imports from Iran by November 4 , or else they will be subject to US secondary sanctions.

US secondary sanctions drew criticism from different countries, as some of them are seeking to exclude themselves from the list and some have declared that they will not implement it.
