AEOI Spokesman: Amano resolved to strengthen JCPOA

In an exclusive interview with IRNA on the sidelines of the 23rd Press Exhibition here at Imam Khomeini Mosalla on Monday, Spokesman of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi said the visit of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) director general to Iran is for exchange of views on various issues generally on JCPOA.

Iran is to employ the additional protocol to NPT voluntarily and conditionally, he said, adding, 'If we are to be deprived of JCPOA's interests, NPT can help in this respect.

Amano is looking forward to bolstering of the JCPOA and has negotiated with various outstanding officials in the world, he said.

On the importance of the country's nuclear knowledge and industries, he said indigenized industry saves Iran from economic turmoil.

From the early stages of the Islamic Revolution, they limited us and we have no option except to strive to ascend peak of nuclear technologies, Kamalvandi said.

Iran's nuclear issue has turned into a political and international issue, he underlined.

Non-delivery of nuclear fuel, urged Iran to rely on its own indigenized industries, Kamalvandi said.

About one million patients in the country are now taking advantage of nuclear industry achievement and the country has experienced remarkable progress in various nuclear related industries such as oil, environment, archeology and power plants, he said.
