Accepting ceasefire not meaning end of Return March: Senior Hamas official

In an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Sunday, Ismail Rizwan emphasized on the need for Tel Aviv to fulfill its commitments, adding that the occupying regime's leaders and commanders must know that it would not be possible to speak of a ceasefire without fulfilling their obligations.

In recent weeks, there has been a series of efforts by Egypt and the United Nations aimed at establishing a ceasefire between the Zionist regime and the resistance groups in Gaza.

While the Zionist regime insists on the necessity of ending the missile launchings of the Palestinian resistance groups, the Palestinians also demand the complete removal of the eleven-year blockade of the Gaza Strip.

Rizwan stated, ''Without ending Gaza blockade that started in 2007, the rallies will not stop or end.'

The senior Hamas official noted that the rise of Zionist tensions and provocations could not lead to the end of the campaign; a move that started on the 10th of April and has so far lasted 22 weeks.

'We are committed to defending the sons of our people and the lands and sanctities of the Palestinian people, and no one will be able to force us to abandon our legitimate right,' he added.

He went on to say that, 'It is clear that the Return Marches have a great deal of popularity, and this is reflected in the widespread participation of activists and people in these marches, which continue to exist despite their many pains, sufferings and sacrifices.'
