
Upon his arrival in Vnukovo International Airport, he was welcomed by the Russian delegation and Iran’s Ambassador in Moscow Mehdi Sanaei.
Elaborating on the schedule of his three-day visit to Russia, he told reporters that participating in the annual meeting of ministers of GECF to be convened for various purposes such as electing new secretary general is on his agenda.
He further noted that he is slated to hold talks with chiefs of various Russian oil companies to boost cooperation in different fields such as oil exploration and signing two memoranda of understanding (MoUs).
The forum will begin Moscow tomorrow with ministers of member states as well as several other oil and gas exporting countries in attendance.
The 12 main members of the forum are Algeria, Bolivia, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Iran, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Russia, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela and the United Arab Emirates.
Countries like the Netherlands, Norway, Iraq, Oman, Peru and Azerbaijan Republic are observer members of the forum.
Mohammad Hossein Adeli was secretary general of the forum for the past four years, which will be ended at this meeting.
Member states hold 70 percent of world gas reserves as well as 42 percent of gas production.
