Uzbekistan plans to increase trade exchange with Iran to $500m

He made the remarks in 'Iran-Uzbekistan Trade Conference' held here on Tuesday in the venue of Trade Promotion Organization building.

Khodjaev said there exists obstacles in the way of expansion of trade exchanges, which should be improved.

He added that by tax system reform in Uzbekistan many of current problems will be removed.

The Uzbek minister said that his country should take paths for free trade in future, adding that by reforming tax system, list of taxpaying goods will be determined and in next step customs tariffs will be revised.

Khodjaev said it is due to offer facilitations to issue visa for businessmen and tourists.

He added that the two countries are negotiating to reduce transit tariffs and transportation goods.

According to the Uzbek president proposal it is due that direct flights between Tehran and Tashkent to be done twice a week, he said.

The Uzbek minister announced that trade exchange volume between the two countries in year 2017 was around 320 million dollars and added Uzbekistan intends to increase it to 500 million dollars.

'We are trying to establish preferential tariffs between the two states, before the upcoming visit of President Hassan Rouhani to Uzbekistan,' Khodjaev said.
