US exit from JCPOA not affecting Iran gas exports: Official

After the US withdrawal from the JCPOA, Iran's gas export has not decreased and is expected to increase following the start of gas exports to Iraq's southern province of Basra, Hamid Reza Araqi said.

Araqi, who is also managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), added that 18 million cubic meters of gas is exported from Iran to the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, on a daily basis.

Iran is exporting gas to the neighboring countries, including Turkey, according to the long-term contracts between Tehran and these countries, he said.

Iran's deputy oil minister said that Iran exports 30 million cubic meters of gas to Turkey on a daily basis.
