UNIDO must get more involved in technology transfer to Iran: Iranian official

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Iran has been implementing several projects, including the energy efficiency project, Seyyed Mehdi Mirasalehi said on Wednesday.

According to the official, along with the implementation of this project, several training courses have been held, called Energy Dialogue in Iran.

He stressed that in order to be operational, the issue of energy efficiency and saving and reducing pollutants in Iran should first be converted into a general belief and culture that energy conservation is a must.

The official said achieving technology in this area is a must, especially in the large and high-volume industries that require high energy consumption, it can reduce greenhouse gases.

“Acquisition and transfer of technology will be possible in light of having specialized personnel, while enjoying necessary management and equipment to replace old equipment,” he continued.
