Maxim Martynyuk in a meeting with Iran's Ambassador to Kiev Mohammad Beheshti, said, 'Ukraine sees Iran as not only an important partner, but also as a main regional country.'
Given the existing capacities, Martynyuk said, the bilateral trade ties can be more than tripled the current values.
Kiev is already moving toward achieving such a goal, he said.
The Iranian ambassador, for his part, presented a report on the bilateral ties between the two nations in various fields.
Beheshti expressed willingness of Tehran to form a joint working group on agricultural cooperation, sign cooperation agreements, plants preservation and quarantine, livestock health, veterinary medicine, as well as creation of a joint investment committee.
