The meeting was held with participation of the managing director of Iran Railways Company Saeed Mohammad Zadeh, his Azeri counterpart Javid Gurbanov and Ardebil Governor Akbar Behnamjou.

Gurbanov elaborated on Azerbaijan's transportation capacities and the measures taken in the framework of creating regional and international corridors.

Building a railway terminal is still underway in Astara, he added.

The operation to execute Astara-Astara railway project started on March 2018, he noted.

He went on to say that the financial agreement on Astara-Rasht railways was signed during a visit of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to Baku.
