Second supertanker docks in Persian Gulf Port

He said that the first supertanker named Maroni to carry bitumen docked here last week and the second ocean-going vessel named 'Bitu Express' docked in pier 56 and 57 in Persian Gulf Port.

Bitu Express has 46,000 tons capacity with 180 meters length and width more than 32 meters and it bears Panama flag.

He said that direct supply of bitumen from this port for destination of member countries of European Union has several important achievements for Iran.

Introducing Iran as an international brand in bitumen export, elimination of brokers, noticeable decrease in number of brokers in the Persian Gulf region, especially the United Arab Emirates, which were very active during imposed sanctions against Iran, are achievements of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

Persian Gulf Port located 23 kilometers west of Bandar Abbas city, capital of Hormuzgan province.

It is oil zone of Special Economic Region of Shahid Rajaei Port and has strategic position and is located in transit route of north-south corridor and neighboring refineries and large industries in the region.
